Home in Old Town Red Lodge

This home was built in 1900 in the original downtown of Red Lodge in the Yugoslavian district with Moose tracks in the sidewalk! The entrance is right off the sidewalk, without any setback and the south side of the homes sits right on the property line. The neighbor to the south of the property built his home in the alley and the lot to the north is extra wide with the home sitting at the far end, so there is room all around, which is very rare indeed in downtown Red Lodge and makes the home bright and sunny all day long!

The home has been remodeled countless times and last time in 2011. It has a new gas burning stove, new flooring, new metal roof, new plumbing, new kitchen cabinets and appliances, new electric wiring, new front door, fresh paint inside and out, new Marvin double pane windows. The porch also has a new fiberglass roof and one bedroom closet is all cedar. The grass stays green because there is an irrigation well in the yard which can be used lavishly without running up the water costs. The double garage is tall and deep enough for two Hummers with a new garage door and opener. The garden shed has a new roof also. There are lots of trees including freshly planted Colorado Spruce, which have silvery needles. A water filter in the basement makes the city water into delicious drinking water. There is an air conditioner built into the living room wall, but this year we did not have to turn it on at all, the ceiling fans in kitchen and bedroom kept us cool.

A golden tub from the 70's is still there, but there is a marble sink and a stack washer/dryer in the bath. The living/dining room ceiling lights are remotely switched on and can be dimmed.

The middle and elementary schools are just a couple of blocks to the north, along with Café Regis, a restaurant and health food store. Downtown is just six blocks and the public swimming pool (outdoor) 4 Blocks. The city park of Red Lodge is right along Rock Creek and only two blocks from the home. Occasional backyard visitors include six to eight does, one buck, two moose, one black bear and 22 wild Turkeys! The moose sleeps by the garage or in the front yard and in winter the deer sleep along the hedge along the north side of the property. Birds of all colors visit the bird feeder year round, they prefer hulled sunflower seeds, but in summer the bird feeder needs to be inside overnight or the little Black Bear will sit on your railing and have a feast, if it is not her than it's the raccoons.
